Carmageddon 2.0

This weekend, September 29-30 the 405 freeway will be closing between the 10 and the 101 to work on widening the freeway and adding a carpool lane to the 405. We've already been through this once in July, 2011 dubbed Carmageddon. All in all, it really wasn't that bad. The surrounding freeways weren't in gridlock and a lot of people planned ahead and stayed off the freeways altogether.

The Metrolink is offering a $10 pass for unlimited rides this weekend to help people get around. They put together this video to promote this weekend using the slogan "eat, shop and play locally."

UCLA is also preparing for the closure this weekend and informing its students of the eminent traffic. The college has planned activities to keep it's students engaged locally during this closure. The UCLA Medical center will remain open this weekend as well. It will house about 250 employees nearby or on campus and will "be ready and fully prepared to handle any emergency." See how UCLA prepared

What does this mean for quick courier service? We have planned out alternate routes so we can provide same day courier service this weekend with little to no effect on delivery time. We are ready for Carmageddon 2.0, are you?
